Kerala Backwaters are a network of lakes, rivers, canals, inlets, lagoons estuaries and other forty four rivers that drain into Arabian Sea. The backwaters of Kerala elongates it’s beauty to a total distance of 900 Km. Serene surroundings and greenery hold its side path on its way to ocean. Earlier the backwaters were used as a source of commerce and trade, Which has now been developed as a part of tourism. However these canals are still used by the locals for transport purpose.
