Rajnandgaon is the primary town of Rajnandgaon District, in the state of Chhattisgarh, India.It is 64kms from Raipur.The District headquarters of Rajnandgaon is on the Bombay - Howrah line of southeastern railways. The town is surrounded by ponds and rivers and is known for its small-scale industries and traders. Another name used for the city is Shanskardhani, representing the peacefulness of how the residents live together in religious harmony. National Highway 6 (Great Eastern Road) also passes through the town of Rajnandgaon. The nearest airport to the District is at Mana(Raipur), about 80 km away.

Dongargadh
Dongargarh is the main tourist as well as piligrimage of the district. The famous temple of MAA BAMBLESHWARI, is on a hilltop of 1600 feet in the town of Dongargarh. This temple is referred as BADI BAMBLESHWARI. Another temple at ground level is situated about 1/2 k.m. from the main temple complex. This temple is reffered as CHOTTI BAMBLESHWARI. Lakhs of people from in and around Chattisgarh flock the shrine during the navratris of Kavar (during Dusshera) and Chaitra (during Ramnavmi). During these navratris melas (fair) are organised in the premises of the temple, which run 24 hours. Many companies and organisations display their product during this mela. The added tourist attraction is the ropeway. It is the only passenger ropeway in the state of Chhattisgarh.
Kairagadh
Kairagarh is 92 kms from Raipur and 40kms from Rajnandgoan city.It has the only one Music University of India.It is also the only Music university of Asia. There is also beautiful temples like Danteshwari mai and vireshwar mahadev temples to visit.
Gandai
It is 43 kms from Rajnandgoan and 83 kms from Raipur.GANDAI is small village which has very ancient Shiv Mandir .Devpura(Gandai) is one of the Village in Chhuikhadan Tehsil in Rajnandgaon District in Chattisgarh State . Village Birkha
SHIVA TEMPLE (GHATIYARI), Village Birkha, (District Rajnandgaon)This stone built monument facing the east direction is situated near village Birkha, 3 kms west at hill side in Gandai tehsil of Rajnandgaon district. The main ruined temple has garbha-griha and mandapa with remains of walls. A Shiva Linga is installed in the garbh-griha on Yonipitha. The doorjamb is well decorated with the depiction of standing Shiva as doorkeeper with ghata-pallava motif on both sides. Various important sculptures as Bhairava Nandi, Ganesha worshipper and etc. have been displayed on the Padastals in the temple-campus. This temple was built by the Nagavamshi rulers during 10th–11th cent. A.D. This is a good specimen of regional temple architecture and art which flourished during that period.
Ambagarh
Ambagarh Chowki is a town and a nagar panchayat in Rajnandgaon District in the state of Chhattisgarh, India.It is 16 kms from Rajnandgoan city.Ambadevi Mandir is ambagarh is a beautiful temple to visit.By Bus: Buses and taxies are available from Rajnandgoan and Raipur.
