Mrigavani National Park Andhra Pradesh

The Mrugavani National Park at Chilkur is spread over an area of 700 acres and is located at a distance of 25 km. from Hyderabad. Here also you can take pleasure in watching nature at its best.

The plants of the park is of tropical waterless deciduous forest of degraded nature.The Mrigavani National Park park harbors over 600 plant kind ranging from bryophytes, Pteridophytes, Herbs, Shrubs, Climbers and Trees. The vegetative cover presents a mosaic of woodland and grasslands. Prominent trees are Teak, Rosewood, Sandalwood, Neem, Bamboo, etc.

20 type including Sambar, Cheetal, Wild Boar, Porcupine, Hare, Forest Cat, Civet Cat, Mongoose.

115 species including Peacocks, Warblers, Babblers, Flower Peckers, Partridges, Lapwings, Ducks, Curlews and Quails.

More than 20 species of butterflies and several hundred species of other insects and worms.

Python, Cobra, Rat Snakes, Russell?s Viper & Monitor Lizard.

Pleasant for most part of the year with winter temperature at approximately 11 degrees C and summer around 40 degrees C. Annual rainfall is around 750 mm.

Tourist Facilities

The Mrigavani National Park has an Environmental Education Center with an auditorium, a well-stocked library and a museum with wildlife exhibits.

Regular nature camps are conducted for school children taking them for nature walk, bird watching and safari ride.

Snake show with live specimens is an added attraction.
