Kufri Hill Station North India

Kufri is a tiny ,beautiful and scenic hill station located 19-kms from Shimla on the National Highway No.22.Once Kufri was just a "kufer" or Pond. It is famous for its trekking and hiking trails. Many skiing enthusiasts tour Kufri in winter, when the hill resort dons the white sheet of snow. It is one of the most popular destinations for adventure lovers in Himachal Pradesh. Here one can enjoy a Pony or a Yak Ride.
Kufri is also famous for its nature parks and picnic spots. Kufri's proximity to the hill station of Shimla makes it an important place to visit. From December to March it wears its white winter garb, with snow trimmings on its undulating slopes are fashioned by nature to exhilarate lovers of winter sports.

Tourist attractions in Kufri

Mashru Peak : One can hike through thick forest around Kufri to the Mahasu Peak- the highest peak in Kufri.

Himalayan Nature Park : The Himalayan Nature Park,which has a collection of animals and birds,found only in Himachal Pradesh.


Indira Tourist Park : The Indira Tourist Park is near the Himalayan Nature Park and provides panoramic view of the locations around.

Fagu : This village is little ahead and is quiet good for undertaking a short trekking tour. The village overlooks the Giri valley and offers a three km trek till Chharabra. Fagu is also a good picnic spot.

Skiing : Skiing is the best adventure sport that can be enjoyed in Kufri. During winters, when snow spreads its blanket over the slopes of Kufri, lovers of skiing know that they will have an exciting time ahead. Ski courses for beginners are conducted every winter by Himachal Tourism. It also offers necessary equipments for skiing.
